We are pleased to announce our latest catalogue of Rare Books, Manuscripts and Literary Art, which includes manuscripts and letters by John Berryman, Joseph Conrad, Malcolm Cowley, and Stephen MacKenna. In addition to rare books by James Baldwin, Bob Brown, John Clare, T. S. Eliot, Wyndham Lewis, James Merrill, Paul Muldoon, Rainer Maria Rilke, Wallace Stevens and Dylan Thomas, the catalogue includes Lady Caroline Lamb’s copy of Coleridge’s Christabel (1816) with Lamb’s annotations and drawings; Stephen MacKenna’s annotated copy of Creuzer’s edition of Plotinus (1835), the inspiration for his great translation; an extra-illustrated copy of Murger’s Scenes de la Vie de Boheme (1921) with original letters and documents relating to Murger’s circle; Pound’s Cathay inscribed to his professor at the University of Pennsylvania; and copies of Adrienne Rich’s impossibly rare first two books, privately printed by her parents when she was ten and twelve years old. The catalogue also includes original drawings by Dora Carrington, a portrait of Lytton Strachey; Mina Loy, a drawing of a Bowery bum; and a pencil portrait by Jack B. Yeats of Major Robert Gregory.
