(Santa Barbara): Unicorn Press, (1970). First edition. One of 450 copies bound in paper wrappers out of a total edition of 500 copies (50 copies were cloth-bound and signed). Presentation copy, inscribed by the poet to his brother Eli: "To Eli, Keep dancing, brother, you got the rhythm, baby, you do! Love, Phil". Laid in is the original of a terrific telegram that Eli sent to PL upon receiving the book: "5 Detroits really sensational. Baby you're right on hitting all them mothas with u joints in the first shtick. Many they pretty just like you tell it. Look like stars. What could be sweeter reading???? I really dig the writing and that dedication is absolutely beautiful . . . your lovin dancing brother Eli" Covers faded at spine and margins, otherwise a very good copy. 8vo, original printed black paper wrappers.
