the areas of our expertise. Fees for collection development
will be charged at a strict percentage of the cost of the
material acquired on behalf of our clients.AUCTIONS:
We are pleased to represent clients who
wish to bid at auction. Our services include an examination
of auction lots, the supply of condition reports, and an
evaluation of concomitant market values. A commission will
be charged on successful bids; in the event of unsuccessful
bids, a flat fee will be charged.CONSULTATION:
We are pleased to advise current and
prospective clients concerning the pleasures and perils of
collecting, especially with respect to the fundamentals as
well as the finer points of collecting rare books and manuscripts.
We are also pleased to advise clients considering the various
modes of disposing of their collections.CONSIGNMENTS:
We are pleased to consider consignments of
collections of rare books, manuscripts, letters, and
original artwork.CONSERVATION, RESTORATION AND PRESERVATION:
An integral part
of responsible collecting is the conservation and
preservation of artifacts. We are pleased to advise
clients regarding the relative merits of conservation;
and we will recommend the services of established
conservators where appropriate. We are pleased to assist
collectors in obtaining protective archival slipcases and
boxes for their valuables.
